Leadership Focus
Leadership Focus Leaders are leading today in the most complex, ambiguous, fast-paced changing business environment that we have ever seen. Leaders need to be adaptive, quick-thinking, and yet reflective, thoughtful and clear. Information bombards them from every direction, including subordinates who often know more than the leader on specific topics. How can leaders cope with this chaos? Learning to hold a focus, to become vitally conscious of the present momemt, and to continually refocus and single-task rather than multi-task actually is providing some relief and results. Creating space and time to think without distractions is difficult, however through intense focus the distractions can be blocked. It takes a different kind of energy, however the benefits of holding a leadership focus are many. Ultimately making better decisions and being aware that others feel listened to are the most noticable ones. Next time you find yourself in the swirling chaos, stop and find a way to focus. You will be more productive and your people will notice you as a leader- a more focused leader who has the time for people- the best leader of all.
